Tricare Humana Military has determined that I meet the eligibility requirements to be an authorized TRICARE provider, classification: Registered Nurse. I am a non-network provider for the South Region. I have the ability to file your claim and NO payment is due at the time of service when service occurs in my office. If you desire a home consultation, payment is due at the time of service and with your medically coded receipt, it will be your responsibility to file a claim, seeking reimbursement from Humana-Military. Humana Military allows for 6 consultations per birth.

ALL other Insurances - Prior to your visit, contact your insurance company to identify what breastfeeding support they provide. Your insurance company may require preauthorization and/or a physician referral. Lactation Resource Center is not affiliated with any insurance companies (except TRIcare-Humana Military). There are no other businesses in our area that provide this kind of comprehensive care; with that being said, you may have to request a "Provisional" or "GAP Exception". After your visit, you will be provided with a detailed, coded receipt that you may submit to your insurance company. We do not bill insurance on your behalf but we do try to make sure you have all the neccessary paperwork you made need to submit for reimbursement. Although many insurance companies do cover lactation care, we can not guarantee our services will be covered by your policy. Some families also choose to use funds from their pre-tax medical spending accounts to cover lactation services. Please check with your plan or account provider to see what options you may have. If you are getting nowhere with your insurance company and you need a "script" to speak with your insurance company, please check out Lactation Resource Center Facebook files page for help.

  • Lactation Resource Center believes all mothers, regardless of income,  should have access to quality lactation care.  Quality lactation support is far less expensive than the option of not breastfeeding!  Feel free to contact us if you need to discuss alternative payment options or would like information on other sources of community-based support.

Worried about cost? An appointment with Lactation Resource Center costs way less than a month of formula! On average a month of formula can cost families around $200-$300 .
